Rome, Italy – A woman goes through numerous metamorphosis in all the different moments in her life, from dawn till dusk, from youth to maturity – this is the source of inspiration of Rani Zakhem ’s Fall/Winter 2014-2015 Couture Collection.
A strong heartfelt attraction to black tulle embroidered with red lace translates into a floral enchantment resulting in bold effects of cuts and textures, which are enhanced by the refinement of colors and fabrics. The tint of dawn, borrowed from summer’s last clouds flushed by the first rays of sun, reflects this particular incarnation of youth painters nicknamed "cuisse de nymphe”, “nymph’s thigh”. It is precisely this very pale shade of pink, very fresh, very sensual, found in dresses evoking the blossoming of a woman and her awakening sensuality. The tops, either strapless or with sleeves, with their mandarin collars, always in floral lace, cinch at the waist, tightening it and holding a cascade of silk chiffon which gush to the ground and undulate, like the foam of a torrent.
This pizzazz is strengthened throughout the day. Pink is accurate, the morning’s woman expresses herself in Fuchsia, the dominant shade; whether draped gowns reminiscent of caryatids or embroidered lace orchid appliqués on a nude tulle mini dress.
At noon, a zenithal sheath dress radiates spectacularly with its kaleidoscopic geometric embroidery, crystal flowers and gold sequins, an implementation that required five months of work.
At dusk, Rani Zakhem‘s woman, already fully blossomed and at the height of her passion blazes in a red and black dress, a mermaid silhouette where lace flowers unfold, sprinkled on laser devoré flocked tulle. Far from crepuscular, the night is the time of sensuality and spellbinding. A sheath dress, aquatic and surreal, embroidered with silver degradé pailettes emulates the shimmering moon. Elsewhere, a white Chantilly lace corsage holds a short oversized petticoat covered in dense tufts of shredded black and white polka-dot chiffon; an astounding effect of texture evoking bright flashes in the darkness of the night.
Through an allegorical collection, Rani Zakhem illustrates the metamorphosis of a woman, from candor to passion, from budding to blossoming, at the pace of luminous cycles of days and seasons.
